How to handle forklifts
- Train the driver who operates these machines so that he knows how to take the right turns without causing any damage.
- Instead of securing the load to a hoist line using rigging, the load rest on forks maneuvered securely under the ground. Paths should be made and controlled around the workplace for material movement by forklifts.
- Do not stuff in too much on the fork lifts. The problem increases when the truck is loaded more than its capacity.
- Forklifts may be used on flat surfaces and peak points. If you don’t have a loading dock, you can make use of a ramp. These ramps will enable the machine to load stuff on to the truck.
Just by taking care of these small things, one can easily handle a forklift.
