Types Of Shock Absorbers

Types Of Shock Absorbers Used In Automotives

Shock absorbers are one of the important components in your car. They protect vehicles and passengers from unwanted shocks or vibrations caused by bumps and potholes. They make the car movement smoothly and make traveling comfortable for passengers. There are various types of shock absorbers, each of which has its own function depending on the needs of the vehicle. We briefly discuss some of them.

Main Double Pipe:

The double tube composed of two cylindrical tubes that are included in it such as the working tube and the tank. Both tubes contain hydraulic fluid. A piston is inserted into the inner tube and the piston cap has small holes so that the hydraulic fluid can move when the piston moves back and forth. In this way, the shock energy is converted to heat and dissipated. The two tube front shock absorber are as follows:

Two Pipes With Gas Filling:

Instead of hydraulic fluids, nitrogen gas is used in the tank. This is a great improvement over the main two-tube tube, as it eliminates problems such as ventilation and foaming, as well as hydraulic fluid leaking out of the tube via piston action. Due to this prevention, excess heat is greatly reduced.

Position-Sensitive Shock Absorbers:

The position-sensitive shock absorber system includes two additional curves so that the piston moves smoothly over the tunnel when the car is traveling on a smooth surface. At the same time, the movement will be hampered if the vehicle is moving on an uneven surface where the upward and downward movement of the piston is more intense. This new improvement in the shock absorber system allows the car designer to build shock absorbers based on size, weight, maneuverability, etc. from the car.
